Photorealistic portrait painting is considered to be the most difficult genre of painting. Yet it is the easiest shortcut to acquire painting skills and to be able to paint anything from portraits to abstract motifs, landscape, and figurative subjects! At this workshop, we study the basics of painting and composition, colors, and how we can illustrate a volume on canvas through shades and highlights in the same way the sculpturer shapes it in clay. Participants can, of course, choose to paint other motifs of their own choice.
The workshop is divided into Beginners and Advanced. The beginners workshop includes an introduction to painting, basics of colors and painting techniques, and exercises. The advanced workshop includes classical photorealistic portrait painting of a model and also an introduction to and exercises in modern painting. The workshop is conducted in English.
